About the Event

Join us for an elegant afternoon to celebrate our vibrant local music community and to raise support for SJZ's Jazz Aid Fund. Hosted by San Jose District 6 Councilmember Michael Mulcahy, the event honors Henry Schiro, San Jose Jazz's executive director from 1988-2004. Henry's commitment to local artists, through the organization and with his leadership at the Garden City, San Jose's premier jazz venue at the time, continues to inspire us. You'll enjoy music, delicious food and drink, silent and live auctions and more. 

We'll be serving the fine wines of Kirigin Cellars, a family-owned boutique winery in Gilroy, CA and we've turned to downtown's high-end Oaxacan restaurant Mezcal to provide elegant passed hors d'ouevres and a hearty buffet of Mezcal's favorites including their famous Chicken Mole, Vegan and Cheese Enchiladas Suizas and their signature Tricolor Romaine Salad with Radish, Jicama and Avocado, dressed in a light Cilantro Vinaigrette. 

Performances

As you enter, you'll be greeted by the smooth jazz/funk playing of one of our High School All Stars U19s combos. If you've never heard the group you'll be amazed at the skill and poise of these young players. 

Our featured performer is 2025 Jazz Aid Fund artist Ryan Trujillo, one of the most versatile and sought-after bassists in the Bay. We'll be treated to a performance by his Ryan Trujillo Latin Jazz Quartet, with Jeff Goodkind on piano, Melky Sédec on percussion,  Emilio Davalos on drums and Ryan on electric bass.

My New Beginnings Quartet featuring Jeff Goodkind on piano, Vaughn Cannon on Guitar, and John MacDonald on drums will be playing a concert at Little Green A Plant Bar in Redwood City as part of their LG Live! This is a really beautiful venue/artistic space. It’s a special treat to be able to host a concert in a room with so much personality and elegance!

This is an all ages FREE concert, donations are cherished!

We’re playing at Darla Cafe as part of their Jazz Supper Club series! This is one of my favorite spots to play locally, the food is incredible and the owners put so much work into curating a truly cozy atmosphere! Tickets are available on the Darla Cafe website! Invite your friends, we’d love to have a good audience for this one.

We’re playing piano trio jazz (piano/acoustic bass/drums) at Good Karma in downtown San Jose! This is an all ages FREE performance, kitchen is open until 9pm serving fresh vegan food.

We’ll play a mix of original songs, standards, and some new arrangements that we’ve been dying to try out.

We are bringing back professional flautist Ráyo Furuta’s Linda Rondstadt tribute show at SCU. This is open to the public and all ages at the SCU Music hall auditorium.

We are playing in downtown San Jose at the break room as part of their New Works Fest! Basically as part of their yearly New Works program I was awarded a grant to put towards producing a new work. I was then one of 5 recipients selected to have a concert in Downtown San Jose. It’s going to be a really special night.

My student Jackson Takizawa is going to bring a quartet to open the concert.

We’re playing a short set on the main stage for Dia San Jose Fest in downtown San Jose! There will be food and music all day, come and hang out. We play at 1pm!

We will be performing an intimate duo concert for the music at noon series at the Music Department Theater.

Pasquale Esposito returns to the majestic Guglielmo Winery for his annual benefit concert “LA Notte Canta” for an evening of music under the stars.  The evening’s concert will start with a buffet Italian dinner catered by Sapore Italiano of Burlingame followed by a show-stopping performance.  A portion of the profits will benefit Notable Music and Arts Organization promoting music education both locally and nationally.

Pasquale returns to McGrail’s Vineyard for his third summer concert under the stars. Enjoy award winning wines while enjoying the rolling hills of Livermore on the enchanting McGrail Vineyards enjoying the stellar vocals of Pasquale accompanied by his talented Band and special guests.
